"PaceSetters running club of the Fox Cities in WI says “Thank you, Suzy!”
From the moment I met Suzy when she arrived for the afternoon running clinic for our club & community, to the last person to leave our general meeting that night, she made each one of us feel special. Suzy is so genuine and down to earth. We had runners ages 12 – 62 attend her afternoon clinic, and we all felt like a family. We ran, laughed and learned. Suzy’s career highlight video and her personal story are amazing. Our club wants to also thank Shawn Smith from XAMSports. Shawn made this day with Suzy possible with her endless follow-up and coordinating exactly what our club requested. Thank you! This was a great and memorable day!"

"Hi Suzy, I wanted to thank you for the opportunity to spend a few hours with you yesterday (at the Clinic in Appleton). I'm sorry that I got so emotional :) It's pretty darn amazing to finally get to know the woman I've looked up to for most of my running life. I don't think many people get to spend a day with someone they've looked up to! I know that in our heads, we make people larger than life until we get to meet them and realize they are every bit the same as you. I appreciate your honesty, energy, and perspective on life. I most definitely got reenergized and am looking forward to hitting the ground running before I start another cross country season. Thanks for being so real and insistent that we keep balance in our life. I'm still learning how to do that when I'm teaching during the school year. I most definitely will never forget this experience. I wish you well on your continued journey through life, running, and art. Sincerely, Jody Drake"

"Hi, I'm a female high school junior who recently received Suzy's book Fast Track for Christmas. I can't even begin to describe how much it has changed my perspective on nutrition and running. I'm a pretty accomplished runner, having started my sophomore year, winning 2 league championships in cross country and track (3200m). Of course, improvement was not only the key to my continued motivation and confidence but to my continued success. After a "Cinderella" sophomore year, my junior year cross country season was mediocre at best. Even though I ran some good times for some hard courses in XC, I didn't improve my times at all (my PR being a 19:02 set sophomore year). Looking back, I can attribute this to a overtrained summer before this season in addition to a poor diet. I was too focused on maintaining a certain weight and training as hard as I could. The first thing I noticed about Fast Track was Suzy's description of her diet "Before" and "After." It was funny to me how my diet was almost identical to her "Before"--from breakfast to dinner, which consisted mainly of soda, sugars, and carbs. I'm not a calorie counter and believed that I could eat whatever I wanted, and that my training would cover the rest. I soon learned how wrong I was the hard way during my junior season: feeling constantly fatigued, with little injuries popping up, and poor performance. I was almost at a loss until I read this book, and although I'm still waiting for that breakout race, I consult Fast Track for support and guidance whenever I feel that losing a few pounds or running some "junk" miles would help me (neither would--I now know).
Now, I'm transforming my diet into what it should be: balanced, nutritious, and beneficial to my running. It is hard at times to resist the Poptarts and go for oatmeal instead, but I am working at it, and hope that it will all pay off. I'm also training smarter--resting! I like to say that running is the hardest sport in the world, and I also completely agree with those who say that it is 90% mental. But, if I can train like a champion--running and eating--for the remaining 10%, I'm hopeful that I'll see a change in my performace. This was the email address I found on the internet to reach Suzy (or someone who can direct this to her), and really, I just wanted to say "thank you" for writing this book (along with Dr. Jose Antionio). Having someone so accomplished (and human) who is willing to share their story and training methods is really great to look up to these days, and even though I don't expect to run at an Olympic level, I know that I have the ability and drive to make it happen. Today, I feel inspired to become a better runner in all aspects. Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Moira Ryan"

"First, and most importantly, I wanted to tell you how EXCELLENT the presentation/interaction went. You have no idea how many students are currently struggling with very similar life issues and looking for some hope. I know of three very specific students for whom the timing of your words could not have been better placed!. I meet with each student at the end of each semester and the meetings last week were all about your class interaction. Student used words like "inspiring", "motivating," and "optomistic." Thank you again so much for coming to class."

""As I think of Suzy Favor Hamilton and the incredible display of grace and talent during the many years as one of Drake Relays most accomplished athletes, I am reminded of how she dazzled our fans with an even better personality. Suzy has amazing character and has solidified a place in the hearts and minds of tens of thousands of Drake Relays fans. I am proud that Suzy has remained a proud supporter of America's Athletic Classic. In a more recent event with "Character Counts" in Iowa, Suzy engaged hundreds of high school and middle school athletes, coaches and administrators as she implored them to pursue victory with honor. How appropriate for one of the U.S. most honored ambassador of track and field to take time out to pour out her heart to young men and women in efforts to make a difference in sport. Suzy Favor Hamilton is a Drake Relays Hall of Fame Inductee and will forever be remembered for her tenacity on the track and her generosity off the track.""

"I just want to say it was a great pleasure to meet Suzy at the Lakeshore Hall of Fame banquet here in Manitowoc, wi. Her speech was so real and sincere and she took time to sign autographs and talk personally to everyone after the banquet. I have been a long time fan and she has reafirmed my belief in her...she is an amazing runner and even more amazing person. Thank you Suzy...sincerely, Mona"

"The Traverse City Track Club has enjoyed the company of many top athletes but rarely have we ever experienced an evening with someone so engaging, so individual-focused, so great with kids, and frankly, just plain fun! The autograph line after the program was long but Suzy spoke to each person as if they were the only person within miles. Her life time athletic achievements are incredible which served as a motivational learning experience for everyone in the crowd. I would encourage any race or club to include Suzy in their next event."
- Dave Taylor, President Traverse City Track Club
"Suzy, I would really like to thank you for the great time I had at your camp. It is seriously something I will never forget and I learned so much more about running. I also think it made me realize how much I love running and that I have to run for myself and not for anyone else. I am just so happy that you gave me the opportunity to learn so much more about a sport I love and can do for the rest of my life. Thanks Again"

""What a story! I left the presentation tonight so motivated and encouraged I cried. I cried because I heard there was hope from someone I never would have suspected to have felt the way at one point in her life that I am at now. I'm tired of only having triathlons as my outlet in life and now realize I need to find the balance Suzy was talking about tonight.""

""Suzy was the perfect addition to our speaker series, since she was inspirational and connected with the students. I was so impressed with her personal touches that she made with each person and the time she took to get to know everyone! Her message was clear, concise and real, which I think made her one of the most effective speakers our group has seen."

"Suzy,
I was at your clinic recently and learned SO much. I learned a lot about you and a lot about myself......as a person, and a parent, and as a runner. Thank you for reinforcing something I thought I already knew. From now on, I plan to run for all the RIGHT reasons, and not worry so much about my speed, or getting those miles in, or trying to meet other people's expectations. You've also made me realize the importance of doing the right thing with my daughter......letting her discover the love for running on her own rather than putting pressure on her to excel.
I just returned from a long run and was thinking about all the things you said as I ran along. After about a mile, I realized that I was running with my head up.....lookingforward....with good posture and improved form. And it wasn't as if I was even focusing on form.......I was just running with a new, more positive
attitude!I felt fantastic! And after the run, felt so invigorated! You have helped to make my running fun again!
Thanks for that Suzy.
Take care and keep doing what you do. You really do have a great gift. The way you relate to people is like nothing I've ever witnessed. It amazes me that you can be SO positive ALL the time! Before and after your presentation, I watched as strangers came up to talk
to you and realized that you treat EVERYONE as if you know them, and that you are truly their friend. WOW! What if everyone in the whole world did that??
I have a new goal now......To treat people the way the Suzy Favor Hamilton does, and.........maybe do a little running too."
